What is Service2Potato?

Service2Potato is an independent online trading platform where digital and 'traditional' business go hand in hand. Buyers and sellers have contact with each other, both benefiting from a global trading place: the internet. And that of course 24/7.

Who and Why Service2Potato?

Service2Potato has been developed for buyers and sellers of agricultural products and raw materials. On our platform, supply and demand influence each other in a free way, resulting in a fair price for all involved.

How do I register myself?

On the homepage you will find an orange button with: 'Create an account'. Click here and register for free. Are you unable to create an account? Please contact us.

What are the benefits of using Service2Potato?

As soon as you buy or sell potato's through our platform, these are the main benefits:

Are there any costs associated with an account?

No, creating an account is free.

Account information

Where can I find my sold and bought auctions?

You will automatically receive an email of every auction sold or won. An overview is also available via your account:

  1. Click on your username at the top right
  2. Go to 'My profile'
  3. Here you will find an overview of your auctions

How can I delete my account?

You cannot cancel an account yourself. Please contact us.

How can I change my company details?

If you are logged in, you can easily adjust company details:

  1. Click on your username at the top right
  2. Go to 'My profile'
  3. Here you can view and change company details

Where can I limit the number of emails I receive?

If you are logged in, you can change the settings:

  1. Click on your username at the top right
  2. Go to 'My profile'
  3. Click on 'Communication settings' on the left side of the menu and deselect the emails you no longer want to receive
  4. Click on 'Save' afterwards

FreshMonitor

What is FreshMonitor?

On FreshMonitor you will find current market information. For example, are you curious about the kilo price or about previous transactions? You can see it at a glance in FreshMonitor.

What are the costs for the FreshMonitor?

FreshMonitor is currently freely available.

How do I subscribe to the FreshMonitor?

If you are logged in to Service2Potato, you can do this in just three steps:

  1. At the top of your screen, go to 'FreshMonitor'
  2. Click on 'Pay now for 1 year'
  3. Pay easily with iDEAL. Would you rather receive an invoice in advance? Please contact us

How do I cancel my FreshMonitor subscription?

The subscription will expire automatically. So no unexpected costs will be charged.

How do I renew my FreshMonitor subscription?

Before the subscription ends, you will receive an email with instructions to renew. Did you not receive this? Then log in and go to FreshMonitor. Here you click on the green button 'Renew now'.

Invoices and payments

How do I pay or receive my money safely?

We work with a OPP escrow account, therefore we can guarantee a safe payment process.

What are the payment options?

An invoice is associated with every transaction. You can pay this per bank.

Where can I find my (pro-forma) invoices?

We send invoices by email. You can also always find them in the transaction file.

Do I pay VAT on purchased goods?

Yes, we calculate the VAT percentage that applies to you. In the Netherlands this is 9%. Is it a foreign transaction within the EU and are the goods exported? Then both parties don't have to pay VAT.

Will I receive a confirmation after payment?

When Service2Potato has received the payment, the buyer and seller will receive an email about this. You can also check in the transaction file whether a payment has been received.
How long does it take before the payment is visible in the transaction file??
It takes a maximum of 24 hours before a payment is visible with us. If this is the case, this will be reported in the transaction file. After that, it takes a maximum of 48 hours before the amount is in the third-party account.

Why do you use a trust account?

This guarantees a secure payment process.

How do I sign up for OPP?

If you are logged in to Service2Potato, you can do so in three easy steps:

  1. Click on your username at the top right
  2. Go to 'My profile'
  3. Click on the button 'Register for OPP'

I have not yet received a (pro-forma) invoice, what should I do now?

Our support department will help you further. Please contact us.

Can I combine invoices from different auctions?

No that is impossible. We need a specific payment reference to assign a payment to the correct auction.

My account

What should I do if I have forgotten my password?

You can create a new password in three easy steps:

  1. Click on the orange button at the top right 'Login'
  2. Klick on text 'Forgot password?'
  3. Follow the instructions in order to create a new password

What should I do if I did not receive a confirmation email?

First check whether the confirmation email has ended up in your spam box. Can't find it there either? Please contact us.

I entered the wrong e-mail address when registering. What now?

Don't worry. Our IT department can help you. Please contact us.

Can I register myself without a mobile phone?

No, without a mobile phone number it is not possible to register yourself.

Can anyone register and bid?

We are a safe and reliable platform: all buyers and sellers are pre-verified. Can someone not pass the verification? Then this person cannot bid on an auction. It is also mandatory to enter a VAT number when registering.

Can I register myself without a VAT number?

No that is impossible. Our platform is not intended for individuals.

Can I immediately put an auction online after I have registered?

Before you can publish an auction, you must be registered with our payment platform OPP. OPP will check the company details, with this we guarantee a secure payment process with reliable users. The registration takes a few minutes. Once you are through this and the details are correct, you can start creating auctions. After a successful registration you can also choose to publish the auction without OPP registration. As a provider, you will receive a notification that you agree that the funds will not be paid out. These funds remain in the escrow account until a successful OPP registration is completed. We therefore always advise you to complete the OPP registration before publishing an auction.

Can I buy an auction immediately after registering?

As a buyer you can choose to bid at an auction without a OPP registration. OPP has stricter rules for the party that receives the money than the party that transfers the money. Therefore, any buyer can transfer money to a OPP account once a successful auction has been established, but once a refund is due for any reason, the buyer must still fully register with OPP. We therefore always advise you to complete the OPP registration before you start the bidding process.

My bids

What are the commission costs for buyer and seller?

Creating an auction is free. Fees are not charged until a transaction has been completed. We charge a commission fee of € 0.0025 per kg for potatos.

How can I bid?

If you are logged in, you can easily place a bid:

  • Select an auction on the homepage
  • Click on the 'Bid' button
  • Keep an eye on how long the auction will last and what the highest bid is
  • Click on the green button 'Confirm'

How do I know when an auction starts and closes?

On the homepage you can see from every auction until when you can bid.

What is a mediated auction?

In a mediated auction, the seller chooses to offer his product to one buyer. The transaction is not placed on the public auction, which means that there is no bid.

What is an auction for a selected Circle?

This is an auction for a selected group of buyers that you invite yourself: your favourite buyers. During the auction, you can add new buyers to a Circle, but not remove anyone. When the auction is over, you can adjust the Circle.

How can I track my bids?

If you are logged in, you can follow bids closely in three steps:

  1. Click on your username at the top right
  2. Go to 'My profile'
  3. On the left side of the menu, click 'My bids'

What is an automatic bid?

With an automatic bid, you as a buyer enter a maximum price for a selected auction. If someone bids on the auction, you can automatically go over it.

Where can I see the bids on my auction?

If you are logged in, you can view bids in four easy steps:

  1. Click on your username at the top right
  2. Go to 'My profile'
  3. Click on 'My overview'
  4. Go to your offered auctions

How do I know if I am the highest bidder?

When the auction ends, you can see what the bids are on the auction page. Do you have the highest offer? You will immediately receive an e-mail about the auction you have won. It is then no longer possible to reverse a bid.

Someone else bid through my account, now what?

Contact us as soon as possible (by phone).

Can I view products before placing a bid?

The auction contains photos of the offered product. Would you like more information or would you like to see the product yourself? Please contact one of our traders. You can also ask your questions directly to the seller when you open the auction.

How do I stay informed about new auctions?

Would you like to receive an email about interesting new auctions? If you are logged in, you can take four easy steps:

  1. Click on your username at the top right
  2. Go to 'My profile'
  3. Click on 'My Keywords'
  4. Add keywords and you will receive an email as soon as an auction will be online

Can I place a bid before the auction starts?

Unfortunately not. You will have to keep your patience.

How do I place a counter offer?

If someone has bid on your auction, you will receive an email about this. You can then place a counter offer via email. This is also possible in the relevant auction.

Can I cancel a purchased auction?

No that is not possible. However, it is possible that quality problems arise during the delivery of the product. Is this the case? Report this to Service2Potato within 48 hours. Only then can we dissolve the agreement. See also article 12.1 of the general terms and conditions.

Am I obliged to sell my product if it has been underbid?

No, if you received a underbid, you don't have to sell your product. You can of course make a counter offer.

What happens if I accept an underbid?

Then you agree to the proposal. If no higher bids are made after that, the auction is sold at the bid price.
What happens if I accept a partial bid that is below my reserve price?
If no higher bids are placed after that, this part is definitively sold. The remainder will be auctioned off.

What is a 'Buy Now' bid?

When you see 'Buy Now' between the auction details, you can buy the auction directly. You don't have to wait for the remaining time.

What is a minimum bid?

A minimum bid determines the lower limit. Potential buyers can't bid lower.

Can I increase or decrease 'Buy now'?

Yes, you are able to adjust 'Buy Now' during a live auction. Note: this is no longer possible after a bid has been placed.

How do I sign up for OPP?

Why do I have to sign up for OPP?

We work with this payment platform, so that we can guarantee a secure payment process via a third-party money account.

Why do you work with OPP?

OPP is an internationally renowned party. With this collaboration we have a solution that works well for our customers and that meets the increasingly strict requirements of regulators.

Can I still use a trust account?

Yes, that's possible. And thanks to OPP this can be done very safely.

What makes OPP safe?

OPP has a special account for trading via Service2Potato. They are also supervised by the financial authorities, so you can be sure that your money is safe and that they do not process illegal transactions.

Why do I need to identify myself with OPP and what do they want to know about me?

They check your company identity to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. In doing so, they are looking for the following data:

  • Data of the person creating the OPP account
  • Data of the company linked to it
  • Data of the persons who manage or own the company

How can I upload documents in OPP?

After your registration with OPP, you may need to provide a copy of your ID or other additional documents. If you are logged in to Service2Potato, you can do this in five steps:

  • Click on your username at the top right
  • Go to 'My profile'
  • Click on the blue button 'Go to OPP'
  • Take a photo with your smartphone of your ID or other additional document and send it to your computer
  • Upload the jpg file via desktop to your OPP account
  • Note: you cannot upload a PDF file.:
  • Whose bank account do I need to transfer my money?
  • You need to transfer the money to a OPP account. This account number is displayed on the pro-forma invoice. Service2Potato determines on the basis of the general terms and conditions when it is possible to pay out.

How long will it take before I get paid?

It takes three days after approval of the delivery. We use this period to check the reliability of transactions and the customer itself.

How long does it take for a refund to be made?

A refund is fully processed within five to ten days.

I get a text or email from OPP: is this spam or phishing?

If in doubt about a message, open your OPP account just to be sure. In the dashboard you can check, among other things, the shipping status of a delivery.
You can also find information in the transaction file: a message is posted here when an amount is on its way. Please note: it can take up to 72 hours for the money to appear in your account.

Quality and issues

I am dissatisfied with a service or product provided, what now?

That's annoying. Share your complaint as soon as possible - in any case within 48 hours - in the transaction file or contact one of the Service2Potato traders. See also article 12.1 of the general terms and conditions.

Can I return the goods?

This is only possible if there are quality problems, and only in consultation with the seller. Are there any problems? Please contact one of our traders as soon as possible.

How quickly do I have to report if the quality of a product is not satisfactory?

You must submit this event within 48 hours via the transaction file. See also article 12.1 of the general terms and conditions.

When do I approach Service2Potato as an independent party in a dispute?

Are you as buyer and seller not able to find a solution? Please contact one of our traders, so that we can solve it together. See also article 13.4 of the general terms and conditions.

What is the role of Service2Potato during a dispute?

We will enter into a conversation with buyer and seller. We are authorized to offer a solution. See also article 13.4 of the general terms and conditions

How long does it take before I get an answer to an email?

We will respond as soon as possible. If you want to speak to someone right away, please contact us by phone.

Which certificates are required for the seller?

There are no mandatory certificates. We recommend adding as much certificates and information to an auction as possible. This increases the chance of a successful auction.

How do you handle my personal data?

We process user data in our system. We are also authorised to make this data available to third parties. Of course, we carefully take into account the Dutch AVG (General Data Protection Regulation).
We only provide personal data to third parties if it is necessary to provide a service or if this is required by law. In this way we can fulfil our agreements and provide optimal service. Do we use data for a direct mailing, but do you not want to receive it? Then we will honor your registered objection.
